Paul Connor Memorial Youth Hunt

The Paul Connor Memorial Mentored Youth Turkey Hunt is a mentored spring turkey hunt designed to introduce young hunters to safe, ethical, and responsible outdoor traditions. Established in 2008 and named in honor of former San Diego Chapter president Paul Connor, the hunt was first held at William Heise County Park and has since transitioned to Santa Ysabel East Preserve, where selected youth participants hunt on county lands under the guidance of experienced volunteer mentors. Each young hunter is paired with a mentor and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, ensuring a safe and educational experience rooted in conservation, responsibility, and respect for the outdoors.

The 2026 Paul Connor Memorial Mentored Youth Turkey Hunt Drawing was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Ramona VFW. Thanks to everyone that attended!
