The Spring Turkey Tune Up began in 1999 as a local gathering of hunters, conservationists, and outdoor enthusiasts eager to kick off the spring turkey season together. Over the years it has grown into one of the premier hunting events in Southern California, attracting hundreds of participants and families each year. Attendees enjoy a full day of raffles — including great hunts on Lake Sutherland, guided pig and turkey hunts, guns, gear, and more — as well as camaraderie and outdoor education. The funds raised by the Tune Up stay right here in San Diego County, supporting youth hunts, our J.A.K.E.S. event, wounded warrior hunts, and programs for veterans. It’s a great time for the entire family and a celebration of conservation and ethical hunting.
